Carbon Critics Blast Planktos

The next wave of green technology might make the Internet boom seem tame by comparison as investors seek ways to cash in on a global warming paradox. The more dire things become, the less likely governments and societies will want to make much needed and costly changes to avert as crisis. The Planktos venture might only be a harbringer of things to come.

The small California company is planning to mix up to 80 tons of iron particles into the Pacific Ocean 350 miles west of the Galapagos islands to see whether it can make a splash in the markets where people seek to offset their greenhouse gas emissions. ( Washington Post)
