A new study on the effects of pornography has just started, but there is already one revealing find: the researcher could not find any men who have not viewed pornography. The study will proceed without a control group consisting of men who have not viewed pornography.

Back in the 90's when the Internet was new I helped people get their modems connected. That often required a "house call". One of the calls was to get the blind guy's computer speakers working so he could download audio porn.

"The objective of my work is to observe the impact of pornography on the sexuality of men, and how it shapes their perception of men and women," says Lajeunesse. To do so, he has so far recruited and interviewed 20 heterosexual male university students who consume pornography.

if the local culture had a similar pre-existing slang for father, might this have influenced the slang for a soft drink?
soda -|- dad (not sure where "dad" derived from)
pop -|- pop/pa (derived from pater/father)
compare to:
milk -- ma/mom/mother/mater

It seems the researchers problem isn't really finding people who haven't seen porn. As ubiquitous as it is in our society I'd still be amazed that there wouldn't be kids raised in conservative homes such that they didn't see any. Howerever look at the selection bias. The researchers want people who haven't seen porn but will start to view it to guage effect. But almost by definition the kind of people who haven't seen porn today (difficult to avoid) are the least likely to enter into such a study. Since the study requires them to become porn viewers
