It's been a hard year or two. First Miriam Makeba. Then Odetta.
Call it fate, destiny, synchronicity, or astounding cosmic coincidence, but I have to report a series of highly unlikely events, a whole collection of chance occurrences that, multiplied together, defy reason and point ineluctably to some kind of universal force.
Via Patterico I find that Howard Kurtz has reported on Hiltzik's use of a sock puppet:
Alright, I'm officially tired of the latest Age of Autism outrage. So, while I wait for J.B. Handley to strike back (or not), let's move on to lighter subjects for a moment.

We'll miss her. As an early boomer, I recall vividly every one of PPM's songs, I can almost recite the lyrics still. They don't do 'em like that any more.
Thank you Mary....

I'm very sorry to hear this. Peter, Paul and Mary were part of my early childhood, with songs like "Leaving on a Jet Plane", "If I Had a Hammer" and "Puff the Magic Dragon" playing alongside Raffi and Fred Penner.

If you'll excuse me, I think I need to head over to You Tube, catch up with some old memories, ane be a little weepy. =/
