Well, first of all their name is really the Astronomy and Astrophysics Advisory Committee (there's that extra "A" in there, ya know?) Secondly, it isn't an NSF committee. The meeting is held at NSF, but the committee is organized by NSF, NASA, and DOE, and reports to all of them, including Congress. Oh, thirdly, their meeting report hasn't been posted yet, but one can weep at the presentations given.
To wit, NSF astronomy and NASA astrophysics are broke. As in, cashless. It is a pity to hear such presentations about inspiring projects that are either broke or unaffordable. Must be hard to keep a straight face.
Which bit should we weep about first?
