Internets are interesting places. One finds all sorts of strange things people post on there. But I hope that Abel's vasectomy liveblogging will make many more men realize that the operation is quick, easy and painless. Perhaps more guys will elect to do it due to reading this post.

I am very deeply touched (as I was literally yesterday) by the outpouring of support and best wishes from fellow bloggers on the liveblogging of my vasectomy.
[Hi Mom. Will call you soon but you really need not read this post. Love, Your son.]
Abel Pharmboy had an awesome idea: he liveblogged his vasectomy. Now that is a true blogger.
With tears in my eyes and my head bowed in deep respect, I share with you the account of Kevin Leitch's vasectomy via Twitter:

No surprise here, Bora, but you were the first to post on my account.
What can I say? I felt bad about using my vasectomy as an excuse not to get a post out on Thursday.
In all seriousness and as you astutely noted, I wanted to use my self-effacing account to draw attention to a relatively painless yet effective procedure that men rarely discuss amongst themselves. Judging from the blog reactions and the comment threads, we got some good dialogue going and have dispelled many myths. (I even put together my own Coturnix-patented linkfest!). I'm still a little sore but I feel like I did a good thing - for my wife and for my blogging community!
Thanks for the link!
