I gotta say, I feel a little glum that so few of the responses I got addressed anything other than the behavior of science bloggers. For example, what about the flaws in textbooks, or the issue that we rely on Wikipedia to supplement our blogging when it is also the concretion of many small bits of volunteer labor? Or the influence news reports have over which scientific papers get cited? I guess it's foolish to expect science bloggers to talk about any medium besides the blogosphere. . . .
