Tell Obama administration about Open Access

ObamaCTO (independent of the Obama transition team) is a site for recommending ideas to Obama's new Chief Technology Officer. You can go and suggest ideas or vote on ideas already there.

I just voted for this suggestion - "Require open access for publicly-funded research". You should vote for it as well and add a comment if you care about this issue (and I bet most of my readers do).

Just the salient points. McCain does not want to spread the wealth around. Obama wants to cut the 15 billion dollar subsidy to insurance companies. Obama wants to invest in higher education.
Apparently, Matt Stoller, like the Mad Biologist, wants to hear a dog whistle from Obama too (italics mine):
A lot of people think the debate was pretty even. Obama supporters liked Obama, McCain supporters liked McCain, I assume (that is utterly obvious). But what matters is the effect on uncommitted voters.

But what would VP-elect Biden say about that? It seems that he does not want anything to be open or accessible online, and he will jail your grandmother or liquidate her savings if anyone downloads anything while on a visit at her place!

Biden will be busy visiting international funerals and such...
