Unprovoked Christmas YouTubery.

In an earlier post, I neglected to mention that Uncle Fishy and RMD engaged a party bus to transport revelers to and from the dinner at Blue Hill at Stone Barn. Conditions on the roads were icy and treacherous, which means the trip took longer than it might have. Also, there was a wine pairing for each course of the dinner.

So, on the way back, there was singing on the bus. A lot of singing. There were folks on the bus who knew every word to Christmas songs I didn't even know existed. For example, "Dominic the Donkey":

And, owing to David Sedaris, I knew about "I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas", but I didn't know all the words.

One song that did not get sung, but which I quite like, concerns the Grinch:

Finally, there's the song that talks you through the week or so after Christmas:

Here's hoping that, if you find yourself trapped on a bus with lots of people, spirits are good and you're all more or less in tune with each other.

More like this

My parents have a DVD of the Bacon Brothers singing "The Wheels on the Bus" over an animated scene, which The Pip loves and insists on watching over, and over, and over, and over...
SteelyKid, like most toddlers, knows a few songs, and likes to sing them over and over.
Here's a little tidbit from my personal life that I thought I'd share, because I find it pretty amusing. I've always ridden the bus to work, because as anyone who's spent time on a college campus knows, it's impossible to get good parking spots unless you show up at about 4 am.
