Two days ago I mentioned some good news I had to share with all of you, and I have been impatiently keeping it under my hat. Now I can finally let the cat out of the bag. I am proud to say that Smithsonian magazine has just launched a new dinosaur blog called Dinosaur Tracking, and I am one of the contributing authors!
At the new blog I'll be covering everything from the latest peer-reviewed dinosaur research to campy comic books and b-movies (so long as they feature some Mesozoic monsters, of course). There are only a few posts up at the moment, including one I wrote about Albertonykus, but I would encourage you to stop by, leave some comments, and bookmark it. It is going to be a lot of fun.
(As I mentioned above , I'm only one of several authors who will be posting material on this new blog. I encourage you to look at all of it, but if you're interested in keeping track of my posts, the author credit is down by the comments.)
What does this mean for Laelaps? Never fear; this blog isn't going anywhere. While all my dinosaur-themed posts will go up at Dinosaur Tracking, you will still be able to find posts on evolution, the history of science, anthropology, zoology, and wildlife photography right here.
I never expected to have this opportunity and I am looking forward to introducing a wider audience to the latest paleontological science as well as some of my favorite bits of "prehistoric pulp." I'm already hard at work on some great stories, so head on over to Dinosaur Tracking and make yourselves at home. I'm looking forward to hearing from you there.

"and Rutgers University ecology and evolution student Brian Switek, whose enthusiasm for dinosaurology so bowled us over we recruited him to our team."
Words speak the loudest of all. If you write it they will come! Good luck and I hope this is the start of new great things for you.
