This is one of those things that take a minute to figure out if it is serious, or a parody.  
By way of starting to return to the blog, after a few weeks of VT/Blacksburg-only considerations, we offer the poem below, by American poet Marvin Bell. It appeared in The New Yorker last October.
Our Benevolent Seed Overlords want a picture of the Mad Biologist for their own nefarious purposes. So I ask you: what do you think a Mad Biologist would look like? Below are some candidates, but if you have something else in mind, feel free to link to it.
Looking at this segment of the playlist, it's clear that I was, consciously or not, giving a good deal of weight to how well a given song works as a sing-along.

Why don't you up your blog anymore? I was enjoying it quite a lot. Hope you're ok and continue.

This is a truly amazing interpretation and performance. I have never really like the American National Anthem. It has always sounded too ... patriotic, and Americans are very patriotic.

I have watched this sooooooooo many times. Love it!

Great video! Marvin Gaye is still awesome today. This video never gets old. Even all the way through marriage therapy, I still love to watch this video in the down time.
