Embracing Your Fifth Dimension (Synopsis)

When it comes to the fabric of our Universe, we live in four dimensions: three space and one time. At least, that's what it seems like. But it's possible that at very high energy scales -- or at very small distance scales -- not only might even more forces unify, but we might discover that the interactions between particles spill over into even more spatial dimensions.

Is there anything we can use about these higher-dimensional ideas to learn something more about our Universe?

Or, conversely, is there anything we can use from our Universe to learn about the potential existence (and/or properties) of these higher dimensions?

Sabine Hossenfelder has a fantastic exploration of duality, the holographic principle and more. Go check it out!

I would be nice story Ethan thanks.
I would like to hear what others think about this hologram.
This one seems a good start"

There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the Twilight Zone.

Hmm, Crickets a? Hmm.. Match Meet Tender:
Well, I think that this concept is just another model that points to the monotheistic creator of our being as described in the Judaeo-Christian historical writings. IE The Bible.
INFORMATION, HECK, LOOK AT DNA
That's Information and you flippin Idiot Atheist clamer on..
WAKE THE FUCK UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just Look What we Got Wrong About Pluto IN OUR OWN FREAKING SOLAR SYSTEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And we are suppose to believe theoretical models that point back 14 Billion years with clarity?

Not Buying IT.
However,
I would like to Just Ask A Question:
Why do you Atheistic Heathens Strive So Hard To Find A Way To Deny That There Is In fact a Great OZ?

By Ragtag Media (not verified) on 16 Jul 2015 #permalink

Geez, Tex, you really do swear a lot. I always thought that was one of your tennets. Obviously not.
If your god is everywhere simultaneously, and the speed of light is the limit, how long would it take his thoughts to reach from one side of the ' whole universe ' to the other? That in itself would imply a long time between synapses, then processing time ....... and it goes on.
No, there is no great oz.
We're not discussing religion here, rather, science. Your belief is your personal idea. Don't proselytise; it's very unbecoming. :)

Haha, I caught one in my snare.....................................OH Snap!
It's PJ.
What Shall I do? he is a fine specimen Like Red Snapper or better yet.
Mahi Mahio..Ummmmmmm

But I digress, I am not in the mood for succulent flavors of the sea.
I am angling for Eelpout.... However at this point, I would settle for a Plecostomus.

OK Back in the water ya go PJ.. Swim me'boy Swim!!! I mean you know harm

On topic or fuck off, raggie.

Your mythology has nothing to do with the universe.

STFU ya 40 year old virgin.

OK I have read this article a couple times now and started reading others,
I came across one at Motherboarddotvicedotcom titled:
“There Is Growing Evidence that Our Universe Is a Giant Hologram”
In it mentions Fermilab Center for Particle Astrophysics Director Craig Hogan
And his relationship with holographic noise hypothesis and this device called a Holometer with a precession 1 billion times smaller than an atom.
They are searching for this holographic noise.
I have come across some (not mentioning names) that think this is crackpot science.
My question is, is holographic noise BS?

So you really can't remain on topic raggie.

If there IS a god described in your bible, you're going to hell.

It's not like there's a lack of moron spaces on the internet where you can prattle your myths. Go there.

Here we do science.

Piss of Idiot. WTF does does the above question #8 have to do with "Religion"?
Idiot Dolt..

Until you let go of your imaginary friend, you've got nothing to whine about anyone else being an idiot.

Perhaps you would be best served by removing the Proton Pack from your back.
You add nothing to the discussion when you fear "negatively charged ectoplasmic entities" at every turn.

Your additions being...?

Ethan please just get rid of this idiot already.

Raggie isn't going to go anywhere, I'm afraid, tim. He loves to troll. Considers it a Holy Crusade against rationality.

Bow Wow is here to stay. Figures since he has no real friends in life he has to slither around here insulting others to give himself purpose.

A holographic universe would not be indeterminate. Quantum mechanics would not exist as we are continuing collapsing probability waves which in a holographic environment would if it existed at all be much reduced to the locality of photonic activity - but as we cannot even see into the future -because it is indeterminate it cannot be holographic as it would be a totality with an end run -actually it is an anthropomorphic solution - nice for sci fi.
keep it coming please
