It's ultimately our individual responsibility to learn and educate ourselves about the significance of both organic and commoditized food. As with most issues that have a large impact on our daily lives, it's up to us to have informed, well- rounded fact-based discussions rather than emotion-laden diatribes. Sustainable food supply systems should have an equal footing with organic and locally grown food supply systems so far as their importance. I hope we can evolve to more intelligent, less emotion-driven dialogue about how to best utilize both systems.
