The August blogger BBQ traditionally kicks-off the new blogging season (see the pictures from the BBQ on Flickr). So, we now have a new schedule for the 07/08 meetups. Instead of having all the meetups in Carrboro, we will rotate between two venues each month: the second Wednesday of the month in Durham, the fourth Wednesday of the month in Chapel Hill/Carrboro.
Anton has all the details on places, dates and times.
So, if you live in the area, or are just visiting, please come by. It is informal and fun. You don't have to write a blog of your own - you can just be a reader or a fan. If you want to start a blog, we can get you started right there and then - that's happened before.

I am the lucky recipient of another completely unexpected gift from a reader.
This past weekend was the Memphis in May BBQ Competition, one of the largest such competitions in the world. As some of you may know, I am a BBQ fanatic (and I finally just perfected my babyback ribs, by the way) and I love competitions like this, though I've never participated in one.
Okay, I busted into the brisket that was included in the BBQ gift that my Texas reader sent me. I am not exaggerating when I say it was the best brisket I've ever had. I didn't put any of their vinegar-based sauce on it.
It's been a while since I wrote about one of my great passions, BBQ. This weekend I made the best ribs I've ever made with a few minor little experimental adjustments. I tend not to follow the same rules every time, I like to try different things and see how they work out.
