By the way, Dispatches from the Culture Wars will soon be moving. I have registered the domain name stcynic.com and will be putting up a webpage there this weekend. My hope is to make this into more than just a blog, I also have a lot of other content in mind for the future. But in the meantime, I hope to have my blog itself moved over there after this weekend (wish me luck installing everything correctly and if any of you are MT pros, let me know so I can send cries for help in your general direction should I get stuck). Stay tuned.

I want to thank Tim and the interns at Seed for doing all the hard work in moving over all of the old posts from stcynic.com over to here. We're talking some 3000 posts, so this was not a minor project. It took the better part of 3 days to complete, so they really deserve some credit.
So here's how I spent almost 2 hours of my time last night. Something was wrong with the Movable Type installation on my old blog at stcynic.com. I couldn't access any of the cgi files to do anything with it, so I called tech support for the web hosting service.
