Oh my goodness! About 35 years ago, my husband at that time, travelled all over the country with a group from West Virginia University who had put together a multi-media presentation specfically for union groups. One of the songs they did was the Union Maid. (I remember, at one performance in Pennsylvania, meeting Tony Boyle--who told me "they weren't going to get him.") As a side note, my ex-husband has known Arlo for a number of years, and would visit him at his home in Massachusetts.
Gosh, the memories this song brings back.
