Darwin Day at the Bell Museum

The details are not yet worked out, but the Bell Museum in Minneapolis, thanks to the inspiration and efforts of DNA artist and Twin Cities' answer to Ira Flatow, Lynn Fellman, and Bell Museum events organizer, Twin Cities Celebrity and spectacular Cafe Scientifique Host Shanai Matteson, will have a special Darwin Day Celebration and YOU are invited!

When official verbiage becomes available, I'll post it. For now, here is what I can tell you:

The date is February 12th. That is Darwin's 200th birthday. The location will be the Bell Museum in Minneapolis, East Bank Campus of the University of Minnesota.

The event is going to be a "Journey Through Life" which will begin with the big bang and end with, I don't know, blogging I guess. A special guest speaker will present a rapid fire, media rich presentation about each little stretch of time covering billions of years.

Now, I don't want to get into any trouble by passing on incorrect information, but I know that Lynn Fellman will be covering the Out of Africa phase of history, and it is very likely that PZ Myers will be covering the development of multi-cellular organism. Yours Truly will be covering the bit in between, with a six minute long rendition of my version of "Fire, Food and Sex." Which is about human evolution.

I've probably said too much already. Details may change. Just think of this as a Save the Date notice.
