About a month ago, I was lucky enough to partake in a speaker event, where noted economist Paul Collier gave a great talk.
An article in the Harvard International Review by Paul Collier paints a stark view of African peasantry.
...but how you give matters quite a lot, it would seem. Just in time for the season of giving (and, of course, drinking oneself silly on eggnog), I'd like to share my holiday reading list, which is coincidentally heavy on that subject (giving, not eggnog).
I finally remembered to bring my GSA notes with me to the office, so I can finally post a wrap up of what I saw/heard at the big 2009 meeting in Portland. I'll have a specific post on Kasatochi - too much to say here. However, a great time was had by all!
