AMNH Subway Art #35

tags: , , , , , , ,

I think this is a species of hedgehog,
as portrayed in tiles on the walls of the NYC uptown subway stop (A-B-C)
at 81st and Central Park West. (ISO, no zoom, no flash).

First thought--porcupine.

Nope.

Hedgehog?

Nah, it's a mouse in a scrunched up paper bag.

It's payed by one of the help the homeless charities to leap out of the bag at drunks, and suggest that it's time to consider quitting drinking. Then it sings a jolly jingle, which gives them the address of the clinic, and scurries off.

The local mental health charities are not happy.
