These are amazing. When did they start doing this? It's been almost 10 years since I was in NYC last.
This beetle has a question mark between its abdomen and its rear left leg. Maybe the artist didn't know what species it was either. :-)

many of the animals on the AMNH subway walls have a question mark somewhere on or near them, for reasons i am unsure about.
