Rooney the Talking Magpie

This is Rooney, a talking magpie. He has a sweet little voice. NOTE: It is illegal to keep this species in captivity in the United States [1:33]

More like this

When it comes to war, we should spend more time listening to those who have seen it. With that in mind, I bring you this by Andy Rooney, from last year's Memorial Day:
Sunday night's 60 Minutes wrapped up, as usual, with Andy Rooney's rambling commentary.
..It's the way people look at you like you were ruining the party or something. And you know what I say about that? ... My home boy Andy Rooney died at the age of 92. He had retired from CBS just a few weeks ago.
Most of the world will be watching today's Champions League final between Manchester United and Barcelona, one of the most eagerly anticipated finals in recent memory. I'm picking ManU to win 3-2.

Oooh, that's a gorgeous bird -- and active! Why are they forbidden -- endangered, or just "exotic"?

keeping native bird species as pets in the United States is illegal because they are protected under one or more of the "wild bird acts". we can and do keep exotic bird species as pets, including European Starlings which have established themselves throughout the USA (you might have watched some of the video i posted of them earlier).

on the other hand, if this magpie is a European species (it's difficult for me to tell in this video), then it would be legal to keep as a pet in the USA.

Oy... sounds like the laws have drifted into paradox!
