Iraq For Sale (Shhh! Don't Tell The Rethuglicans You've Seen This!)

Robert Greenwald, the director of IRAQ FOR SALE, was invited to testify before Congress by Rep. Jim Moran. He prepared four minutes from the documentary to show.

Republicans insisted this video not be shown. [4:37]

More like this

Tim Blair continues to insist that the election was about Iraq. I'll look at his arguments in a moment, but first let's look at what everybody else says about this.
Vice President Dick Cheney repeated his assertion today that al-Qaeda had links to Iraq despite the fact that the US Defense Department recently released a report citing more evidence that the Iraq's prewar government did not cooperate with the terrorist group.
Back before the Iraq War invasion there was some talk about the human and cultural capital of the nation. That it was the Germany of the Middle East. That it was in a good position to benefit from liberation.

So...the U.S. government has bankrupted itself with a war that was conducted, largely, by civilians being paid far more than the army folks who are being screwed & used to invoke patriotism to prolong a war which is bankrupting...

The bigger problem:

Remember the American people voted to do this to themselves.

Now that's a problem.

Yogi-one: I beg to differ -- the American people voted for their elected officials, but were betrayed.

Thankfully, there's only a week left for ShrubCo to continue their sabotage....

I agree with Yogi-one.

This reminds me of a reading we had for one of my classes - a chapter from Naomi Klein's Shock Doctrine that explained how New Orleans was dealt with the same way both before and after Katrina.
