DonorsChoose Update: My First Donor has Spoken!

I just looked at my blog and noticed that my first DonorsChoose donor has made a donation and has spoken! Who will be next? Perhaps you will be the next donor to step forward to defend the availability of science education and intellectual development for all Americans, regardless of socioeconomic class?

Remember: YOU can choose projects to fund as well. Just look through the proposals and let me know which one(s) you wish to fund, and I'll add them to the line-up.

I can also be convinced to do a weird stunt to inspire your donations, so put on your thinking caps to come up with something that you would like to see me do in exchange for your hard-earned dollars to support education. [No, I will not shave my head, so stop thinking that right now]

I am also working on setting up a prize program for my donors, so stay tuned for that!

Here's a partly-formed idea for a stunt: can you find a needy school in each one of NYC's boroughs, and have each organise some nature class (birding?) on the same day, and you go round to each of them to teach the kids about nature in NYC?

i would love to do that .. i'll see what i can arrange. although transportation issues will likely make me stick to manhattan and bronx .. but .. that might be a fun thing to do as a farewell gift to NYC, my home ..
