What with the ailing Finnish tourist industry, I suppose it might be a bad idea to imply that one is not allowed to showcase the prettier parts of the country without a proper understanding of the grammatical cases of the Finnish language.
...Still, "linnoitusta" is the partitive case of "linnoitus", and would probably only appear in this context if one were pointing out that this is a small part of the whole fort, as in "Suomenlinnan linnoitusta" (lit. "a part of the fortifications of Suomenlinna") or "Suomenlinna, linnoitusta". Were one pointing out the fortifications of Suomenlinna in general, that would be "Suomenlinnan linnoitus". Else just "Suomenlinna".
What can I say? Mikael Agricola was an asshole.
thanks for the correction. i knew the title was wrong but wasn't sure exactly how to correct it, so i decided to rely on my readers to help me out.
