Midwest Tour

Sometimes I hear a slight bit of trash talk about how my "war on science" message goes down smoothest on the two left coasts. There's some truth to the claim, but I certainly haven't been avoiding other parts of the USA--and my events this week prove it. I'm doing the heartland, the swing states--Ohio and Michigan. (Granted, I'm still speaking on college campuses, which are little left coasts of their own.) Anyway, here's the rundown:

A lot of folks have asked me to come speak in this area for quite a long time. And now, it's finally happened. We've just added these bookstore events:
Chris Mooney will be in the Triangle for three days - October 28-30th. Come to one of his book-readings:
As usual, being on the road is starting to wear on me a little bit...but there's one more talk tonight, and then I hole myself up again to work on the hurricane book. This one is in Santa Fe:

Your publicist should maybe look into a couple of small schools in the Chicago area... Northwestern and U of Chicago. There are a couple of other small schools in the Midwest, like, U of M in Ann Arbor, U of Illinois and U of WI in Madison...

Any Chicago appearances planned for the forseeable future?

J-Dog, the kids at U of M aren't cool enough for a talk like this, Go Green! Go White!

But Chris, you're not quite in cornfield territory, Michigan is more proud of GM than anything else. You need to head down to Illinois and Indiana to really catch the flatness. As an east coaster who spent some time in Illinois, I've found these Michiganders are a little wary of how midwest you try to make them out to be...just learn how to map with your hand and you'll be fine.

So far no Chicago stuff planned--but in the fall I may be touring for the paperback release, and that would be an opportune time to revisit....Megan, sorry about the stereotyping, tongue in cheek though it obviously was....

No worries, just watch out when i get my 'pa and we run you over with the tractor for those dang east coast ways...damn hippies.
