In its latest issue, Library Journal singled out 39 noteworthy sci-tech books published in 2007. Storm World was one of two chosen in the "meteorology/earth science" category.
Not sure why 39 overall were chosen, but...an honor to share a list with people like Steven Pinker, Natalie Angier, and Walter Isaacson.
Once again, the Storm World paperback--with a new afterword, just written by moi--can be pre-ordered here at 5 % off....
...and now, back to our election coverage.

A dramatic turn of events in the big chess match. Topalov won game nine in convincing fashion, his second win in a row. Topalov now has a one point lead in the match (including the point he got when Kramnik forfeited game five).
Congratulations Chris.
I remain in awe.
Congrats.
Librarians are going to use a list like this to help them order popular science for their collections. Even a smallish public library can easily order one or two books in each area per year. School libraries, academic libraries...these lists help us all spend out budgets on quality stuff.
I know I've already printed the list out and will be ordering most of the books we don't already have.
Congratulations.
Maybe the 39 was a veiled reference a Hitchcock movie.
