Maybe you've seen this before: it's a diagram of the sensory and motor cortex of the brain, with a little man or homunculus drawn over it to illustrate the somatic areas associated with each region. You see where the little man's knee is on the left image of the sensory cortex?
I always loved these homunculi drawings in intro psych and neuro books. These sculptures from the London Natural History Museum are even better!

I would have posted this at Homunculus but am deterred easily (in this case, by the requisite Google account):
The 'memory of water' specifically (and broader assault on science by Postmodernism) is addressed in Fashionable Nonsense by Sokal and Bricmont, which I finally muscled my way through and ultimately enjoyed. Nice to see bloggers also taking on this task!
