Today is a big day for American Presidential politics, the so-called Super Tuesday when citizens in 24 states vote or caucus with their fellows to help select the candidates of the two main political parties. I live in one of those 24 states and Mrs. R. and I vote regular as clockwork.
I've been thinking about the Electoral College, that mechanism by which voters in the U.S. indirectly elect their president.
Are you registered? Do you know where to vote? You can find information and register (if you are not) here (this is an Obama site, but it works for everyone):
Chris, you've got my vote! (Unfortunately, it doesn't look to good right now--you're not dead last, but you are about 261 votes shy of the lead). Come on people, get out the vote...I would have tried "Vote or Die," but I always thought that was stupid slogan...
Thanks, Todd. I think it's safe to say that Mixing Memory can't compete with Pharyngula or Bad Astronomy, since my traffic is about 1/40th of their's. I think this may actually be the smallest blog among the finalist. But I appreciate people voting for me. I can always use the validation.
Awesome just to be nominated. You got my vote/validation.
