But it's not desecration when we do it.

Hey, stepping on the flag is only descration when it's a liberal wiping his shitty feet on the national symbol. Conservatives only have nice clean respectful feet.

Coming up next: W wipes his *** with the constitution.

Intend counts. In the unlikely event this was real, it was poor staff work, or more likely, poor thinking on the part of his hosts. No one seriously believes Bush would intentially show disrespect for the US. You brand yourselves as nuts by jumping on this bandwagon.

It's an obvious photoshop, but even if it were an actual photo so what? I have seen decals, tattoos, painted beer bellies at ball games, bandannas imprinted with the flag. The list could be exhaustingly increased, I'm sure. Again, so what?

The rights and responsibilities that the flag symbolizes are what concern me. These are much like religion, fidelity and other ideals- imperfectly honored in practice.

Did or would Bush walk on a flag imprinted door mat? Who cares? His practices are what is important.

Why would Reuters photoshop such a thing? The point is that there is a code of conduct for the use of the flag, and the President of the United States should follow such a thing. He is being just as disrespectful to the flag as all of those idiots who paint their beer bellies or wear bandannas. It's a matter of respect not only for the flag, but also for the code of conduct.

It's an obvious photoshop

Christ caught lying again.

Again? This is the first time I ever posted here! Or do you know me from some other place? And it's still just a symbol.
