Feeling a little down? Unappreciated? Below the fold is a link to the Norwegian compliment generator, along with a few of the Norwegian compliments that I received today. Behold, The Surrealist Norwegian Compliment generator and a sampling of the compliments I received today; You have the patience of a trilobite. Cretins and vermin cannot compare with the depths of your cousins. Your raw sensuality flusters me as the dog sneezes into the ventilation fan. Your face is like an imperfectly shaven tennis ball. The expanse of your intelligence is a void no universe could ever fill. You have no…

tags: The Hungry Scientist Handbook, DIY projects, kitchen science, Patrick Buckley, Lily Binns, book review When I was a kid, I enjoyed cooking and baking and I excelled at these activities since I regularly won all the blue ribbons in the pre-adult age divisions at the annual state fair. A little later, I expanded my kitchen-based activities to mixing drinks, a hobby that I pursue whenever possible to this very day. Later, when I began taking chemistry classes in school, my kitchen-based skills served me very well because I was a superb chemist. But I am not the only one to notice this…

Some folks are surprised at the size of the "gems," which are only about as big as marbles. "Reindeer are so big," zoo maintenance worker Sheldon Williams said. But the droppings are "just a big pile of small." Source.

God inspired a reader of mine to write a message to me in response to my godless spoutings. My reader, being a blog writer, posted it to his blog (much like the disciples did when gawd inspired them to write stuff -- no doubt only after they'd all sparked up a doobie and sat back on the couch with a bag of Doritos and quill-and-ink and a piece of parchment).
