No I'm not dead. I have been performing some tricky bucket biochemistry, traveling to Montreal every second weekend, taking care of the upcoming season of NERD talks, dealing with job applications, supervising a rotation student and will soon be supervising an undergrad. How do young PIs have time to blog????

It's nearing ten p.m. on a Friday night. After putting my daughter to bed, I've washed the dishes, done the laundry, and boxed up some outgrown toys. Next I'm going to start writing up work plans for two independent studies I'm supervising this semester. Then I'm going to bed.
Large Wall Street independent investment banks had a nice thing going.  Because much of what they did was not depository banking, there was little Federal oversight.  Instead, the SEC let them run voluntary oversight programs.
Nominate Tim for a Vice-Chancellor's Award for Teaching and Supervision Excellence.

I'm beginning to wonder IF I really do have time to blog, I'm gonna try to keep it up though. Personally, I think I will start to write more science-oriented entries to try to focus my lay sections for grants, fund-raising (local) and reviews. Helps me feel less guilty about dedicating time to the blog when I am doing something that I need to do anyway (and hopefully get some insight into where I am not clear from the readers).

Sounds like you're busy but hopefully with some exciting stuff on the horizon.
