Ryan Miyakawa and Daniel Rubalsky (aka State the Name)!!
You voted and we listened: the winner of the USA Science & Engineering Jingle Contest is Ryan Miyakawa and his song "Come and Play at the USA Science & Engineering Festival". The runner-up was so close behind, that we created a 2nd prize for Daniel Rubalsky and his band, State the Name.
Ryan Miyakawa is a fifth-year Ph.D. student in applied science and technology at UC Berkeley. Daniel Rubalsky is a 15-year old tenth-grader from Reisterstown, MD.

Hands on Science Museums are some of my favorites. When I travel I like to look up if the city I am going to has a Science Museum and check it out. Some of my favorite exhibits are usually in the physics and math types of areas with cool lasers or how you can use lenses to teach how light diffracts, but a Math Museum, where it is dedicated to JUST math?? That sounds pretty awesome too!

"Fighting a forest fire with 1000 eye droppers." That's how David Washington, acting CEO of Change the Equation, a non-profit, described the current effort to improve STEM (science, technology, education and mathematics) education in the United States.
There are hundreds of programs around the country addressing the nation's need for improving STEM education, but there is no centralized repository of information about them. The problem? Others can't learn from their success or failures.

Sid the Science Kid is going to be at the USA Science and Engineering Festival! And the best part is it looks like he even has his Festival T-shirt as well as all of his friends. Do you have yours yet??

As we are winding up our jingle contest (have you voted yet?), we are launching a NEW contest. The American Academy of Environmental Engineers is challenging middle and high-school students to design a residential home that a family of four could comfortably live while taking advantage of sustainable design concepts such as energy efficiency, reusable natural resources, the sun and much more.
