Like 'Omic God! (some 'omes' I'd like to see introduced)

I see that Sandra, RPM, Joan and Coturnix have weighed in on the overuse of "ome" in today's system's favoured biology, so I thought it was a good time to represent a piece that was previously published at the SCQ.

This one is called: "Like 'Omic God" and includes the great:

d'oh-ome: every mistake you ever made. (Don't tell me you didn't see this one coming.)

Of course, I'd like to add a few of my own here. These would be:

couldn'tgivearat'sass-ome: this is the sum of all things that are basically trivial and unnecessary. Data may vary from person to person.

didn'tmakethecutatboingboingdiggslashdotandthelike-ome: collective term for all of those blog posts you thought for sure, couldn't miss, but attract attention from the web community but ultimately didn't.

hotair-ome: Truly, a convergent term for all of the breath wasted spouting various trivia, agendas, or crap, with the addition of current and projected CO2 submissions. Really folks - that's twice the fear factor.

procastinat-ome: sum of all the time you've spent procastinating. Probably bigger and more convoluted than you'd think, and something I'm contributing to right now.

irony-ome: We writers love this one. The sum of all ironic things, which now includes this post, since it sort of fits into all of the aforementioned 'ome' definitions.

Ralf Neumann has interpreted my fascination with -omics as distaste for neologisms:
There. That banal neologism has been rattling around in my cranium for a few days like errant bb shot, and I needed to get it out there. Sometimes, a loathsome word must be purged from the brain before it causes too much damage.
