Wow! If anything makes me finally get a cell phone - this is it!
Huh. So does this mean widescreen video on the iPod now?
Wait-- is that a touchscreen?
BWAHAHAHA! Everyone else is locked into a contract because they *had* to have a RAZR, "Look at ERV with her ancient phone!" they laughed!
But I will be free and clear to upgrade in June WHOOOO! HAHAHAHA! And Im with Cingular! SWEET!
I am way too excited...
It claims to be running OSX -- can that be true? If so, if it's not crippled, then it's a general purpose computer.
THAT would be a tool to have. But how could they allow someething like that to get out? It would be revolutionary. And Apple's now big business.
I wonder if it's going to function as a decent way to read text --- if so I can finally retire my old Sony Clie that I carry everywhere loaded with books.
Too bad Cingular has such lousy coverage, their system isn't picked up at a lot of the places I go in the mountains and Verizon's is available.
Hank-- don't see why it couldn't be true it's running OS X. They've got a nice big hard drive just sitting there, and Apple's new "universal binary" dealie means that they don't necessarily need to even be running an x86 processor on this thing.
Ah, I can see I'll have even more trouble next time I'm due for a cellphone replacement as I try to explain that I want a cell phone in order to ... don't get ahead of me here ... make phone calls. :-)
Some nifty-sounding technology though ...
Look at the picture. It looks enormous (and not just because it dwarf's Steve Jobs standing next to it). I need to handle one before I know whether I want it. How heavy is it? How durable is it? Will the touch screen end up covered with fingerprints?
And damn it, I wanted an unlocked phone. A year contract with Cingular? Blechhhh. If it's really good though, I'd consider getting it anyway.
OK, I'm sold.
I notice the share price went up nearly 10% on the early buzz.
honestly, i don't really see what the big deal is. really. its super expensive and doesn't do anything very well except look pretty. 8/ and it's a TWO year contract with cingular.
Well Cingular has great coverage in Oklahoma! WHOOO!!!
