Peacock Backpiece

From the files: one unfortunate consequence of trying to cover all of last year's Artomatic event in a single visit was that I didn't get to explore British Ink's faux-Victorian tattoo parlor. I don't do tats myself, but how awesome is this?
PS. This was not intended to coincide with Conan's last day on the Peacock network, but since it did: I'm with Coco.

I really never thought of spiders as being "pretty" until I came across these two new species of peacock spiders discovered in southeast Queensland, Australia by Madeline Girard (graduate student from the University of California, Berkeley, who is specializing in peacock spiders).

WOW!
Absolutely beautiful.
I'm not proud to admit it, but I have two, a dragon and an owl. Both shoulder to elbow. They are, at least, very well done and amazingly enough maintained great color for the first ten or so years I had them(based on comments from others). Generally, despite having my own, I'm not into large tattoos on anyone. But, as you've already pointed out this one is really amazing and really well done.
I've thought about getting just one peacock feather -- don't think I could sit still long enough for the whole bird. But, oh, my, that is awesome.
I thought it was the male peacock that has the feathers. Well, maybe its a picture of a M-F and she had the tattoo before the operation!
