Contrail descending from a cumulonimbus cloud.
I suppose the most obvious signs of life in this picture are human in origin. With the storm rolling in, most animals had already sought shelter. Not us... we keep flying over the country, or running outside to take pictures. We operate under the assumption that we have the upper hand when it comes to the weather. (Of course, looking at last week's news, that might be a faulty assumption.) I think this picture says otherwise... we may have conquered flight, but our biggest jets are still dwarfed by ordinary thunderheads.

Watch some time-lapse video of super-cell thunderheads taken in June over Texas this year. A thing of true beauty, but awesomely powerful and deadly dangerous as well.
Yesterday Huxley and I were out on the porch checking out the incoming thunderheads. Then we heard thunder. Huxley immediately ran over to the door and pulled it shut.
"We don't want thunder going in the house."
Good idea. Who knows what it would do in there.
I followed the link to your blogs from flylady.net I just wanted to say that I've enjoyed your writing and pictures.
Thank you, Renee, and welcome here!
I can really pinpoint which is the biggest crowdsourcing website (in terms of brand recognition). There are always seem to be a new one popping up which I've never heard. This time it's Crowdflower. The learning continues...
