But I think the coup de grace was that this investigative "piece" on local affiliate WXYZ was followed by the study published in Science the following day (covered on all major networks, including cable, and magazine/print news papers across the country and around the world) concerning the role of genetics/mutations in autism.
What a buffoon! But, had he done research and consulted real scientists and doctors, he wouldn't have repeated all the same tired, dead BS that he did. It just goes to show that controversy and flashy graphics and clipped interviews are no match for the power of the process of scientific discovery.
