Out of Power

I am posting this from a friend's office because we are without power at the moment, so I can't do anything online. We got hit with a nasty snowstorm overnight, very wet and heavy snow, and have been out of power since the middle of the night. Which, in the country, means no water as well as no lights and heat. So, I'll be back to post, answer comments, chat and answer e-mail as soon as I have power again. Hopefully soon.

Recently I bought a plug-in power meter, along these lines:
There's an interesting article in the New York Times today about the rise of solar power. Apparently the market for solar is growing rapidly--expected to expand by as much as 150 percent between now and the end of 2008.
Few technologies give rise to more spirited debates among environmentalists than nuclear power generation. So it was with some trepidation that I started to read an essay on the subject in last week's Washington Post.
Wow, this is a very cool result:

I hear ya about the cold weather, I mean it got pretty bad here yesterday, I had to put on a long sleeve shirty. Criminy!

Seriously, hope you get your juice back soon.

An ice storm took my power out for a week a couple of years ago. You'd better drink your milk while it's good!

Hi Ed,

Hang in there! I don't know much about snow having lived in Arizona for most of my life, but losing power is always trying.

Ed honey, it was so good to have you back on line last night. I don't need to tell you how much you were missed:-)

Thanks honey. It's amazing how dependent we become on technology. My entire day was shot. I couldn't do any business at all. Quite annoying. But I'm back.
