Rowe Pummels D. James Kennedy Again

This time it's about his false claims about George Washington. For the 8 people who actually care about our ongoing project to debunk the nonsense about the founding fathers that is produced in astounding volumes by the religious right, this post is worth reading.

We have at least a cursory account of the creationist press conference in Kentucky, in which Governor Beshear proudly announced the state's cooperation with Answers in Genesis in promoting lies to children. It's via Twitter, so just read it from bottom to top:

For a professed Christian cleric, D. James Kennedy has long had a peculiar problem with the truth. I've never been sure whether he's actually dishonest or merely deluded. Perhaps he alternates between the two. He recently rebroadcast his claim that Sir Julian Huxley said people embraced evolution in order to indulge their sexual excesses without guilt. It's a complete fabrication.

I agree, Zeno. I am continually mystified by the prevalence of demonstrable lies, fabrications, and knowing misrepresentations that are promulgated by these people who claim to be followers of the Way, the Life, and the Truth. It goes way beyond simple mistakes.
