I predict that the Democrats will be pick up 22 seats in the House and 5 seats in the Senate. These are uneducated guesses, but, if I'm close I'll pretend that I had reasons to make these guesses after the election and generate a bunch of after the fact justifications for my random guess based on convential wisdom. This post will be far enough down the page that newbies won't notice my bullshit.

A lot of people have read The Wisdom of Crowds by James Surowiecki. In the book, he gives an example of a group of people forced to estimate the weight of a cow.
The results of the estimation contest are in. There were 164 serious entries (I excluded the $12,000 and $1,000,000 "guesses" from the final data).
This wooden box sits on top of my dresser, and every afternoon when I come home, I dump the change from my pockets into it. It's getting close to full, as you can see:
Several days ago, I mentioned that I had taken over 1,000 pictures on the trip thus far. That number has increased somewhat since then, and I offered a prize to the person who comes closest to guessing the final number, without going over.
