How many oranges does it take to power an iPhone?

Next week, how many potatoes does it take to power a Toyota Hybrid?

More like this

That didn't take long. As soon as a gallon of gas stabilized around $2 and change, hybrid sales started to flatline. Now Toyota needs to use incentives to push the Prius:
The U.S. Department of Transportation has analyzed dozens of data recorders from Toyota Motor Corp.
If you live in a city, you're probably familiar with Zipcar. It's the car rental service that let's you rent by the half-hour, which is very useful if you don't own a car, and need one to run the occasional errand.
With all the problems Toyota's had lately, I have to wonder if some day when I get behind the wheel of my car I might have a ride like this.

Greg - is this video for real? If so how long is the life of the orange battery, and does it still drain quickly in gps mode?

The potato battery may just solve the acceleration issues Toyota has been experiencing - hehe.

The iPad will run on grapefruits.

And it's carbon neutral!!! Global warming is over!!!

Sorry to disapoint all of you, but the energy the orange battery produced came from the zinc that was inserted into it. That zinc was not produced in a carbon neutral way. (neither were the oranges for that matter).

I'm no engineer, but I sense that there may be a couple of obstacles to using this as a large-scale power source.

If you leave the fruit on the tree, does it charge longer?
