This is a feral peafowl that lives a backyard in Eastern Tennessee.
His name is Big Bird.

Very pretty. There are a variety of feral and privately owned peacocks where I live, so I see these beautiful displays now and then in the right season.

East Tennessee. Like West Virginia, North Carolina/Dakota, South Ditto ... it's just not its own state (ah, poor Franklin!)

I knew of one that wondered off, just like him, big and pround, and in east Tn. Usually seen on large farms, not a good pet fenced in, good watch birds.

I'd known previously that some settlers had once declared East Tennessee a state in its own right, under the name Franklin. But I'd never known so much about it.
