You are definitely a Parisian at heart. You just need your tongue to catch up...

We then arrived in Paris on June 21st. If spending the summer solstice in the city of lights means nothing to you then you've never heard of Fete de la Musique, a one day outdoor party.
Sensible. Tell me "sensible" and I'll reply "shoes". Sensible shoes is what your butch 60ish aunt and her partner wear when vacationing in Paris.
Though I really enjoyed my late 70s childhood visits to Disneyland and Disneyworld, I am no friend of disnification, and I've always seen the Paris Disneyland as a bit of a joke. But my mom wanted to treat my kids to a visit last week, and so I came along too.

Most definitely not. I'm an American at heart and in reality. Why would anyone want to live in a country where, in recent decades, the intellectual sphere has been dominated by flakes like Derrida, Althusser, Baudrillard, Barthes, and Foucault?

I got told I should learn chinese, and that I'm a 'natural entrepreneur' . The first sounds interesting, but not enough to encourage me to do it. The second made me laugh until I fell out of my chair.

I should learn Spanish because apparently I'm into "career advancement and communication." Huh. Should've thought of that before I learned Japanese, I guess.
