Purjelaivaravintola (Sailboat Restaurant).

As far as I know, this is a fully functional sailboat that travels from one port to another, where it sets up as a restaurant for awhile, before moving on.
Unfortunately, you can see the reflection of the ferry in the window glass that I was photographing through. Bummer.

Suomenlinna is one of my two favorite haunts in Helsinki. Suomenlinna is an island fortress was built from stone by the Swedes to protect Finland (which was a part of Sweden in the 1700s) from invasion by sea.

Helsinki has carriage horses in its parks, just as NYC does.

I only photographed these horses, I didn't go for a carriage ride, although I think a carriage ride would have been fun (even though it was raining frequently throughout this day).
Unlike NYC carriage horses, most of which are quite fond of people, these horses were quite cross and seemed to really hate people.
Helsinki has carriage horses in its parks, just as NYC does.

Here's a look at the Kauppatori open air market from a little coffee tent that my friend and I (and close to 50 other people) hid under after it started to rain.
The Kauppatori open air market looks like almost any other open air market in the United States, and probably in most European countries.

I finished writing a book review on deadline that I am proud of for Nature and now I am relaxing whilst I think about a warm sunny day not too long ago, when the man whom I would later marry, fed me this delectable bar of chocolate-covered licorice for dinner. How can a grrl resist?

I really like this image, and the bridge, too. It's very Monet-esque, don't you think?
Here's a closer look at that bridge. I am not sure what those pipes house, does anyone else have a guess? There's power lines (above) so clearly, it isn't that;

Here is a lovely public dock located in downtown Helsinki (yes, that's a waterfall in the center). Standing there reminded me -- powerfully -- of the day when I sailed across Lake Washington from Seattle to Bellevue, tied up in a waterpark there that looks remarkably similar to this while I got a cup of coffee before sailing back to Seattle.
