Time for another Map That Campus.

And here is today's campus:

And the hint:

DNA, DNA
[A]=[T], [C]=[G]
Add some lipids
And slip it into cells

So what is the mystery campus?

More like this

Columbia University Medical Ctr - 168th st and Broadway.

I believe Axel and ? invented some key aspect of cell transfection?? My memory is failing me, here....

that's my guess, anyhow.

Wow you're good at this. Another aspect of DNA that was first noted at Columbia medical center was Chargaff's rules (named after Erwin Chargaff of Columbia U.) ... thus the [A]=[T], [C]=[G].

The DNA transfection paper:

Wigler, M., Pellicer, A., Silverstein, S. and Axel, R. Biochemical transfer of single-copy eukaryotic genes using total cellular DNA as donor. Cell (1978)14:725¿731

Right, Chargaff - I hadn't been aware that he was at Columbia.

Fun game btw - to keep it fun for others I'll "cool my heels" a bit. I guess I just have a head full of information, as well as experience visiting a number of campuses.

all the best

Manhattan is also pretty easy to pick up from an aerial photo.

Not so sure about that - it's kind of green for the Big Apple.

Well I can ask another question, based on this aerial photo. What Campus lies just north of this photo? In fact part of this 2nd mystery campus is just visible in the photo ... right where the "hybrid" panel is.
