What is your age?
Nineteen years old

Where do you go to school? When I made the video I was a senior at Grand Valley High School, but I currently attend Youngstown State University.

What is your favorite subject? All areas of art: Drawing, painting, watercolor, sculpture, photography, graphic design, film.

Can you tell us what inspired you to make this video? It was an optional project for my media class and I decided to create this video because when I was a kid I used to watch Discovery Channel a lot and I wanted to be a volcanologist when I grew up. Even though I no longer dream of being a volcanologist I felt that in making a video like this it would reach out to kids the way Discovery Channel reached out to me, to understand the world around them better. To find it beautiful the way I did and do.

What are your interests or hobbies? Riding my bicycle, teeth collecting, sleeping, Arby's beef and cheddars (without red ranch), urban exploration, and playing harmonica.

What inspires you about science? Science is inspiring to me because it is the exploration of humans, the world, the universe, and billions of things that are overlooked but are truly beautiful and defining. How our bodies work, or what key most car horns honk. These are the things you think about at night when you can't get to sleep.

Anything else you want to tell us about yourself? I most easily relate to Holden Caulfield.

Sorry about the delay with updates, I am actually at a meeting filled with volcanologists (of all things), so updates might be a little sporadic.
Not much new to report with Redoubt except that folks in Alaska are getting, well, a little punchy. AVO currently reports (7:12 AM):
This is an interesting story from my favorite part of the world:

Here's to smart young people!

I love the fact that by telling us cool facts about science, the video leaves us wanting to learn that much more.
