San Diego's Gay Pride Parade

Agape Press has a column full of great wailing and gnashing of teeth over the San Diego City Council issing a proclamation welcoming the 25th annual gay pride parade in that town, an event that brings some 100,000 people into the city to spend lots of money. The column complains about things taking place that are "too offensive to describe in print" and in the middle there is a link to pictures from the parade, in between two warnings in big red capital letters proclaiming:

CAUTION! THESE ARE VERY GRAPHIC IMAGES!

Here's the link. Go look at those pictures and see if you can see anything "too offensive to describe in print." The worst pictures on the page, the very worst, have men on a float in speedos. You see images as "offensive" as that in a JC Penney's catalog, for crying out loud. Some of the people look ridiculous, of course, but in amongst them are even pictures of grandmothers and the like, marching in support of their loved ones. If this is the biggest threat you can think of, folks, you need a better imagination. Now, if they want to publish truly offensive photos, how about publishing some pictures of the 6 people who were brutally attacked by anti-gay thugs after the parade took place.

The Gayiety is fine, but SPEEDOS...

To be fair, if your audience is a bunch of people who dissolve into a tearful rage at the mention of gays, maybe agape is doing gays a public service by not helping to get these boobs too worked up.

And to be even more fair, while those pictures certainly aren't as leud as the famous giant penis floats, Mr. 8teenboy wagging his doggystyle ass suggestively in the air with his tighty whities scrunching off his hips isn't exactly something a traditionalist christian grandma might know how to deal with without writing her senator demanding that there ought to be a law. Nor is the charming portrait "Still life with 4 brands of ass lubery" :)

Also, I think this photo has been doctored:

That "Bad Kitty" logo just looks too clean to be part of the picture.

How is the 8teenboy picture part of the parade? Was it on a float or something? Was it taken off the internet and put in there just to have something to be mad about?

Maybe the Agapers were offended by the blatant support of the parade by at least a few Christian congregations and the one Jewish one. It's like bringing a wet blanket to a witch-burning...

Tulle, the 8teen boy picture is actually a photograph of the parade from space.
