Howard "Yaaaaah!" Dean, the former governor of Vermont, Presidential candidate, and head of the DNC, will be speaking on campus tonight. It's exceedingly unlikely that I'll ask him any questions, because I prefer to leave that to students when possible, but if anybody has any really brilliant suggestions of things he ought to be asked, leave them in the comments, and I'll see what I can do.
You could ask him about his support for instant runoff voting vis-a-vis it's failure to elect his supported candidate, Andy Montroll, despite Montroll being preferred 54% to 46% over the eventual winner, Bob Kiss. Ask him if he'd consider supporting other voting method reforms, such as score voting (scorevoting.net).
The Republicans are going to try to say that if the Democrats have not fixed everything and created utopia by 2010, they should be put back in power. If he doesn't cover it in his talk, ask him how he will counter that 'argument'.
Please, can we forget about the scream?
