This week, we offer a shot from the forthcoming "Casual Living with SteelyKid and Appa" catalogue:
If you look closely, you can see two things: 1) a small scrape by her right eye, from an accident at day care-- even SteelyKid is bound by the laws of physics, and gravity is a harsh one, and 2) her new Williams shirt, picked up when I visited there last week. I'm not actually obligated to buy new college-logo clothing whenever I visit, but it amuses me when Kate rolls her eyes at me for buying baby clothes with purple cows.
Another decent view of the shirt is here:
When I gave it to her after I got home, she took one look at it, and said "Cow. Moooo." She's a genius-- reserve a spot for her in the Class of 2030...

We're not supposed to pick favorites among our patients, but I have one. We'll call her Brenda.
Yesterday, after reading all your comments on my last post, and contemplating the sheer inanity of having so little evening time to myself (and my work and the housework...), I decided that we would try a new course with Minnow.
Everyone says "encourage your daughters to stick with math and science". And you want to do it. You're proud of your daughter, you want her to have every option in the world open to her. But what do you do when she resists?
We used to get a magazine called Wild Animal Baby, aimed at the 1-3 crowd, which had a nice page showing interesting animals and the sounds they made. So the toddler had a range from farm animals to walruses and zebras to show off his animal sound skills.
I'm sorry mean old mr gravity messed with Steelykid.
