Libertarians Are Cheap Bastards

They're too cheap even to donate to DonorsChoose, and--

Oh. Wait. They are, aren't they?

This is the worst fundraising idea ever.

(I have no great love for China Mieville, either, and found that piece kind of annoying, on the whole, but I couldn't resist the joke. This may indicate that playing the dreaded "one more game" at lunch today deprived my brain of critical oxygen...)

More like this

I'm not a huge Mieville fan, but the descriptions I read of Kraken sounded like good fun.
I've tried a couple of times to read China Mieville's highly praised Perdido Street Station, but found it so unpleasant that I stopped maybe a third of the way in.
Earlier this week, while I was buried in work, Tobias Buckell pointed to a post at the Guardian blog in which China Mieville calls for more kid-lit agitprop

As usual my brain swapped "Libertarian" with "Librarian" and left me wondering why you'd suddenly decided to single out the book-wranglers.
